چکیده

We present and evaluate a set of architectures for conversational dialogue systems, exploring rule-based and statistical classification approaches. In a case study, we show that while a rule-based dialogue policy is capable of high performance if perfect natural language understanding is assumed, a direct classification approach that combines the dialogue policy with NLU has practical advantages.

Monetary and Macro-prudential Policies: An Integrated Analysis

This paper studies the interaction between monetary and macro-prudential policies in a simple model with both nominal and financial frictions. The nominal friction gives rise to a conventional monetary policy objective emphasized in the New Keynesian literature. The financial friction, in the form of an occasionally binding collateral constraint, gives rise to a financial stability objective. ...

Evaluation of a hierarchical reinforcement learning spoken dialogue system

We describe an evaluation of spoken dialogue strategies designed using hierarchical reinforcement learning agents. The dialogue strategies were learnt in a simulated environment and tested in a laboratory setting with 32 users. These dialogues were used to evaluate three types of machine dialogue behaviour: hand-coded, fully-learnt and semi-learnt. These experiments also served to evaluate the ...

Structured Probabilistic Modelling for Dialogue Management

This thesis presents a new modelling framework for dialogue management based on the concept of probabilistic rules. Probabilistic rules are defined as if...then...else constructions associating logical conditions on input variables to probabilistic effects over output variables. These rules function as high-level templates for the generation of a directed graphical model. Their expressive power...

An Integrated DEA and Data Mining Approach for Performance Assessment

This paper presents a data envelopment analysis (DEA) model combined with Bootstrapping to assess performance of one of the Data mining Algorithms. We applied a two-step process for performance productivity analysis of insurance branches within a case study. First, using a DEA model, the study analyzes the productivity of eighteen decision-making units (DMUs). Using a Malmquist index, DEA deter...
